Timothy’s Story
Tim wasn’t surprised when a wellness checkup revealed his PSA was high and further testing determined he had prostate cancer. Knowing that his grandfather, father, and brother had all been diagnosed with the disease he was aware of the risks and of the importance of evaluating his treatment options. Tim initially underwent surgery to remove the prostate gland. When the cancer recurred, he spoke with several doctors and decided that radiation therapy using the TomoTherapy® System was the right choice for him. He was impressed by his medical team’s experience and the precision with which they said the system delivers radiation.

Megan’s Story
Megan was diagnosed with HPV related anal cancer in February 2021. In March, she was treated with the Radixact® System in conjunction with two 96-hour infusions of chemotherapy, Mitomycin and 5FU (Fluorouracil) at the Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin (“MCW”) Clinical Cancer Center. Megan has decided to share her story as she wants people to know that most humans come into contact with HPV and there is no shame about it. It is listed as the most common sexually transmitted infection. She also wants people to know that HPV related cancer is preventable with a vaccination. Today Megan says that she feels amazing. She enjoys working out every day, hiking and being outside, and spending time with her family.
Jarek’s Story
Jakek’s story began about 1 ½ years ago when he began losing his hearing in his left ear. He’s a very active person – he’s married with three children and runs his own business – and he was concerned about the potential impact of this health issue on his life. After many tests he learned there was a large tumor in his head, located very close to the brain stem and connected to the hearing nerve, that was causing his hearing loss. Jarek consulted with multiple doctors to determine the best course of treatment for him, which included radiation therapy delivered using the CyberKnife® System. Jarek is sharing his story because he wants people with a similar diagnosis to know they have options.
Keith’s Story
Keith routinely visits a respiratory consultant to manage his asthma, which has been worsening a bit as he’s gotten older. During the course of one of his appointments the consultant noticed a very, very small tumor which, after a period of careful monitoring, was diagnosed as lung cancer. Because of his asthma Keith’s doctor felt that surgery wasn’t an option for him and instead recommended treatment with the CyberKnife® System. Keith was treated with the system for this tumor as well as a second tumor that was later diagnosed in his other lung. He is sharing his story to encourage people to take the actions necessary to manage their health. He continues to enjoy taking his Weimaraner dog for a 50-55 minute daily walk on a local beach in Ireland.
Abby’s Story
Abby is a 33-year-old ER nurse with an active life. She has a fiancé and a dog named Roscoe. She was diagnosed with a stage III cervical cancer in October 2021. Abby’s pap smears had always been normal but because of some symptoms she was experiencing she consulted with a gynecologist. After additional exams and a surgical procedure, Abby learned she had cancer, Abby is sharing her diagnosis and treatment story, including her experience with the CyberKnife® System, so other women know they have options – and that they are not alone.
